Partners in Crime: Major Gifts and Planned Giving
When
March 14, 2017
12:00 AM
Location
The Rivers Club
Speaker: Emma Gilmore Kieran Pilot Peak Consulting Major and planned gifts are two very different types of gifts. One is made in the present, the other is secured now for the future. One is typically cash or liquid assets, the other can come in a variety of shapes, sizes and vehicles. One is about shoring up an institution today and the other is about leaving a legacy. They both, however, share a few critical properties: • They require targeted cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. • They are typically some of the largest gifts that a nonprofit receives. • They require planning to make them happen. Join Emma Kieran, Principal at Pilot Peak Consulting, for a conversation on why major and planned giving officers and programs must work together and be partners in crime. We talk about practical tools for donor cultivation, how to manage volunteer involvement, and how to integrate conversations around major and planned gifts into donor conversations.
