Most data PPGC collects are used only to help us better serve our members. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by e-mail or a special announcement placed on the website.
General Users: PPGC does not collect any personal information from users browsing its website. Only aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page -- are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.
Members, Conference Registrants, and Other Customers: To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on the PPGC webpage, members and certain other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. PPGC asks users to provide information like their name, organization name, business phone number, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to PPGC through membership applications, conference or webinar registration, or similar orders and registrations. Additionally, for some e-mails sent in HTML format by PPGC to its members through its electronic newsletters, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email. For those emails, PPGC will monitor whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: email address of a user, the date and time of the user's "click," a message number, name of the list from which the message was sent, tracking URL number and destination page. PPGC only uses this information to enhance its products and distribution of those products to its members. This information is not sold or distributed in any other manner.
Members can modify the privacy settings of their public profiles by visiting https://ppgc.net/Sys/Profile/Privacy.
If you are a group administrator or are registering for a guest, we may store the same information as if the user had provided it to us directly for purposes of administering that membership or event attendance.
We utilize WildApricot for our database and to operate this website. Additionally, we utilize MailChimp for newsletter distributions, so your name and email address is shared with them for this purpose. Finally, our membership information is shared with the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners as a part of our affiliation agreement with them.
If you have concerns about your information, or wish to change or delete it, please contact the chapter administrator by emailing office@ppgc.net.
Why am I included in your email list?
Generally, you’ll be added to our mailing list if you become a member of PPGC or if you’ve ever attended an event, including our annual Emerging Philanthropy Conference. We want to keep you informed of similar events which might be of professional interest to you.
Why do I receive two emails from you in different email boxes?
We have found that some companies block our email announcements and we have not been able to resolve the issue. We've added an "Other Email Address" which can help us stay in contact even if you change jobs or emails are blocked. All emails to you are copied to this other email address, but it is not publicized in any way. You are not required to have an email address here, but it can be helpful if you change jobs. How many mailing lists do you maintain?
We actually maintain three. One is the mailing list maintained by our database at ppgc.net. The other two are at Mailchimp, one specifically for the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council announcements, and a separate list for the Emerging Philanthropy Conference. We do our best to coordinate the three lists, but sometimes things may not work right, especially if different email addresses are used.
How do I adjust my email preferences?
For emails from office@ppgc.net, you can adjust the emails you receive by visiting https://ppgc.net/Sys/Profile/Subscriptions
For emails from Mailchimp, click the “Update Preferences” or “Unsubscribe From All Emails” button at the bottom.
Tell me about privacy? What is made public?
In addition to our privacy policy above, you have the opportunity to choose what you do or do not want to be made available to other members by selecting your privacy options. Visit https://ppgc.net/Sys/Profile/Privacy If you wish, we can delete your entire record as well.
