“Making It Work”

The Pittsburgh region's premier forum for donor-focused philanthropy

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Western Pennsylvania Chapter and the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council (PPGC) invite you to complete the Presentation Proposal Form for the 2012 Emerging Philanthropy Conference. The conference will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh/Southpointe, 1000 Corporate Drive in Canonsburg, PA(Exit 48, Interstate 79, 15 miles south of Pittsburgh).

AFP and PPGC, two regional development organizations, merge their annual conferences to better serve attendees, supporters and sponsors. While each organization maintains its separate identity, the conference planning team works together to assure a continuity of purpose and programs as well as an invigorating educational and networking experience for members of both groups.

Each year the Conference brings together hundreds of fundraising professionals. The audience includes:

  • Executive Directors
  • Development Officers and their staffs
  • Major Gift Officers
  • Planned Giving Officers
  • Special Events Coordinators
  • Consultants
  • Sponsors
  • Exhibitors
  • Allied professionals

Presentation proposals are due by Friday, November 18, 2011!

To submit a presentation proposal:

PPGC and/or AFP Educational Partners (consultants/vendors) may co-present, but only with an active practitioner from PPGC and/or AFP. The proposal must be submitted by the active practitioner who is leading the session.

Selection Procedure:
The Emerging Philanthropy Education Committee will be meeting in November to review the submitted proposals and select those for inclusion in the conference. You will be notified if your proposal has been accepted and asked for additional information that will be needed to schedule your session. The committee always receives more worthy proposals than time slots available. If your proposal is not selected, you also will be notified of that decision and invited to submit again the following year.

Important Notices:
Although the conference fee (includes sessions, breakfast, snacks and lunch) is waived for speakers on the day of their presentation, presenters must still register for the conference so we are able to give the hotel an accurate count. Conference planning committee members, conference volunteers, and conference presenters are responsible for their own expenses, including travel to site of the conference; hotel accommodations; and any meals or special events not included in conference registration fees.

Wi-Fi is available in all conference rooms, though hard wire connections are an additional fee. Whenever possible, please avoid presentations needing internet access as the cost for these services is extraordinarily high. In most cases, static screen shots can be incorporated into presentation format. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
